Here's a quick little lesson on getting a a piece ready for framing.  Cut a piece of 1/8" foam core about 1 inch bigger all around for finished design.  Center it , pull tight using straight pins to hold in place and /or a little scotch tape.  Start a one end with a song thread and lace back and forth.  I remove the tape and pins as I go.  Then repeat on the other side.  Hope this is helpful.  Off to University Days at the Wisconis Museum Of Quilts & Fiber Arts.  Will be teaching DOGS & CATS MATTER punch needle class this afternoon.  Keep on punchin.

Monday, May 8, 2017

On the frame WHITE GERANIUMS using Valdani threads that will be part of my new collection for them called COLOR ME SUMMER.  I'll be teaching a punch needle class (CATS & DOGS) this Saturday at University Days at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts.  So it's another busy week!  Of course on Sunday I'll be hosting my own MOTHER'S DAY BRUNCH & DINNER.  No complaints, it's what I love to do.  Keep on punchin.

Sunday, May 7, 2017

Here's a little progress on the BIG GIRL FRAME...Star is coming along.  Using the 3/8" oxford needle on the body with a gold mohair for the Star and a 2 ply hand spin worsted for the body.  I've been weighing each skein before I punch and will weigh again when I'm finished to get an idea of how many ounces it will take!  Also working on White Geraniums  and will have that update soon.  Keep on punchin.

Thursday, May 4, 2017

Working on the Big Girl Frame today...the interior dimensions are 18 x18.  Love the cosy to protect hands.  This is basically a rug frame so NOT 500 to the inch (available at  Breezy Ridge Farms).  The cloth is monks cloth (searching for a wholesale supplier).  The punch needles are OXFORD FINE ( 3/16" and 3/8")  I've got them and will post in my ETSY Store this weekend.  The flag is done with the 3/16".  The sheep will be done with both sizes.  These needles are not adjustable like our mini punch needles so you'll need 2 for sheep, bunny tails, etc.  The yarn is 2 ply all you knitters out there check your stash!  I'll be offering a select few of my designs (Plain Jane Sheep, Katie O'Hare, Daisy the Cow, and of course a variety of Dogs & Cats) on ETSY as soon as I get something finished, photographed, etc.  White Geraniums are on the Little Girl Frame.  Will have enough done to post in a couple of days.  Keep on punchin.

TEA COTTAGE is finished...I'll have the patterns up on this week...Spent a little time in my studio today, shopped for Easter, and made a quick trip to the accountant.  Taxes done & done.  Ready to move on to cleaning and cooking.  The Cedarburg Depot is being framed and I'm planning the next design.  After talking to the very friendly gals at OXFORD RUG PUNCH COMPANY in VERMONT.  I've decided to try their fine rug punch needle that takes worsted weight yarn and monks cloth or linen.  Gathering the supplies and starting to think about my designs best suited to enlarge to make mats, chair pads, etc.  Not too big...not as big as hooked rugs.  Kris Miller has my drawings for that and sells them thru Spruce Ridge Studio.  Keep on punchin.

I'm Doodling away as I was just told that Jessie James is expected to deliver her pups on May 15th...which means July 15th they will be ready to go home.  However I'm opting for an extended 2 week training program where we will both be trained!  On the magazine front, i just sent off a pattern for the July issue of the Wool Street Journal and anther pattern for their October and final issue!  So sad to seem them go, I have a contributor of theirs for many years.  Look for FOLK ART FLOWERS in Simply Vintage Summer Issue and HARVEST MOON in Punchneedle & Primitive Stitcher Fall Issue.  It's lunch & learn this Saturday so it's a little crazy.  Have the drawing of the Old Inter Urban Train Depot finished.  It will be my Historic building for 2017.  Plus I'm working on an idea that SAYS WISCONSIN...that's the name of the Cedarburg Art Museum's exhibit this year.  Keep on punchin.

Monday, April 3, 2017

A wet day in Cedarburg, and no heat...I'm bundled up with layers of clothes and fingerless gloves!  Hopefully I'll have heat tomorrow, but they can't work in the rain because my furnace is in a lean to outside!!!  The joys of living in a historical or hysterical barrel factory!  Off to the Museum today or a tour group, then mailing orders before coming home and baking up a loaf of bread!  Yes there will be stitching too.  Keep on punching.

Saturday, April 1, 2017

Tuesday, March 21, 2017

But first...I'm putting my Coop back together after having a much needed painting job.  One wall done and 3 to go.  The top photo is just a peak at some of the detail on an old train station in Cedarburg.  It was a beautiful day so i ventured out and took a few photos.  It's now home to the Cedarburg Historical Society.   Plan to do a little research into the history;when it started, what it connected, and when it was retired.  I wish it was operating today.  Keep on punchin and stay tuned for my progress on the train station.

Air Dales are on the frame...working on a different breed each month.  Busy filling orders and working on a new design for February.  Hattie is on the mend, I'm trying to get in a little yoga each day to help my back.  Still sleeping on the couch (hence the back slipping in & out) I just don't trust Hattie on the stairs.  Maybe we'll venture up tonight.  Keep on punchin.

Wednesday, January 25, 2017

This simple design is one of my favorites...Several years ago it was published as one of my cross stitch patterns.  I have reworked it for punch needle.  Keep on punchin.

Friday, January 13, 2017

It's amazing how much I can get done when I have several days and nights in a row at home.  I've been taking care of Hattie all week and I'm happy to report, she has starting eating...her head is still tilted and her left side is weak.  Not trusting her on the stairs yet, so I'm still sleeping on the couch.  I'm punching up some pin sized Dala Horses just finished this garter stitch little jacket.  Just need 2 fabulous buttons  There's a oval Claddagh design on my drawing board waiting for me to select threads (always my favorite part).  Keep on punchin.

Tuesday, January 10, 2017

Time Out is depicts an old sled and a pair of skates leaning up against the side of a faded barn.  I wanted something Winter that wasn't Christmas!  I've just ordered some of these finished paddles.  It's on to  Heart themed designs for February.  My local Blogger Buddies don't forget it's lunch & punch this Saturday.  See ya there.  Keep on punchin.

Tuesday, January 3, 2017

Unfortunately there's very little snow left, it's been washed away with a rainy drizzle.  Hattie is a little better, she is still leaning to the left, her head is quilted, and she has very little appetite.  Remember  she was the dog who once grabbed a rotisserie chicken off the counter and ate the whole thing while I was upstairs changing my clothes!  Reworking Jingle Bell & Stocking Stuffer Santa's will post soon.  There is a little winter scene on my drawing board and I hope to get back to it this week.  Keep on punchin.

Sunday, January 1, 2017

HATTIE & I are are spending a quiet day at home.  She's still pretty dizzy and has no appetite.  I'm taking advantage of this time to sketch a couple of new Winter Designs.  HAPPY NEW YEAR and keep on punchin.
