LACING LESSON

Here's a quick little lesson on getting a a piece ready for framing.  Cut a piece of 1/8" foam core about 1 inch bigger all around for finished design.  Center it , pull tight using straight pins to hold in place and /or a little scotch tape.  Start a one end with a song thread and lace back and forth.  I remove the tape and pins as I go.  Then repeat on the other side.  Hope this is helpful.  Off to University Days at the Wisconis Museum Of Quilts & Fiber Arts.  Will be teaching DOGS & CATS MATTER punch needle class this afternoon.  Keep on punchin.

UPDATE ON BIG GIRL FRAME

Here's a little progress on the BIG GIRL FRAME...Star is coming along.  Using the 3/8" oxford needle on the body with a gold mohair for the Star and a 2 ply hand spin worsted for the body.  I've been weighing each skein before I punch and will weigh again when I'm finished to get an idea of how many ounces it will take!  Also working on White Geraniums  and will have that update soon.  Keep on punchin.

BIG GIRL FRAME

Working on the Big Girl Frame today...the interior dimensions are 18 x18.  Love the cosy to protect hands.  This is basically a rug frame so NOT 500 to the inch (available at  Breezy Ridge Farms).  The cloth is monks cloth (searching for a wholesale supplier).  The punch needles are OXFORD FINE ( 3/16" and 3/8")  I've got them and will post in my ETSY Store this weekend.  The flag is done with the 3/16".  The sheep will be done with both sizes.  These needles are not adjustable like our mini punch needles so you'll need 2 for sheep, bunny tails, etc.  The yarn is 2 ply worsted...so all you knitters out there check your stash!  I'll be offering a select few of my designs (Plain Jane Sheep, Katie O'Hare, Daisy the Cow, and of course a variety of Dogs & Cats) on ETSY as soon as I get something finished, photographed, etc.  White Geraniums are on the Little Girl Frame.  Will have enough done to post in a couple of days.  Keep on punchin.

This MAY BONNET GIRL is one of my favorites...she's clutching that tulip (who knows what garden she snatched it from) as she marches off with her market basket!  It's a rainy day and perfect to work on my new design WHITE GERANIUMS... Keep on punchin.
