SPRING BLOSSOMS

It must be Spring somewhere, right?  It's certainly not here in Cedarburg.  Looks like another week in the deep freeze.  It's -7 degrees as I blog.  Fireplace is going, soup on the stove, vanilla coffee in the mug, and SPRING BLOSSOMS on the frame.  The dogs and I slept downstairs last night, not because of the cold, but because Harley has fallen down a few times and fell trying to get up the spiral steps so...I kept punching late into the night.  I had planned to punch the basket and the tulips, but as the clock ticked, and the temp dropped, I just keep on going.  Think Spring, keep warm, and keep on punchin!

THE HEARTS HAVE IT

Look like I'll be working form home one more day!  It's 1 degree and my hot water pipes froze once again. So while I wait to have the heating company come with their machine that sends a current through the pipes, I'm sewing up pillows, updating my etsy site, working on new designs for spring.  Hope to be in the studio tomorrow.  Keep on punchin.

3 DEGREES OF SEPARATION

It's the 3 degrees (the outside temperature this a.m.) that's keeping me from my studio today!  I've taken advantage of these cold days to finish up pillows, and work on new designs.  Taped to my light table is a sketch of  basket overflowing with spring flowers per Jean Ann's  (sorry about the spelling) request.  I've surrounded myself with colorful pictures of posies and a pot of Pumpkin Dunkin coffee  for inspiration.  Separation is not so bad as along as you....Keep on punchin.

HEARTS AND FLOWERS

It's 7 degrees outside this morning, but I'm dreaming of spring inside!  Once I saw this silk bias tape on blue birds etsy site I knew I had to use it  Here's the results so far...heart and violet wrist corsages!  There will be more to come...pansies for sure, sunflowers and who wouldn't want to wear a pumpkin on their wrist in the fall?  Keep on punchin.

LET THE LESSONS BEGIN

Yesterday was the first Lunch & Punch of 2014.  The weather outside was frightful, but the punchers inside were delightful!  I get so excited to see how each person takes one of my patterns and makes it their own.  Due to the weather, I'll be having mini classes through out the rest of the month.  Call me 262.313.8885 for information. Keep warm and keep on punchin.

SWEET VIOLETS

We are still in the deep freeze with -16 degrees so I've to the mattresses!  Well not exactly but I'm definitely  bundled up and wrapped  in down as I try to think Spring...these little violets are going to be wrist corsages tied on with this silky bias tape ribbon from Bluebird Lane (you can find them on etsy).  Keep on punchin.

BURRRR...-13 DEGREES

Planning on returning to the studio today but it's really COLD OUTSIDE so I'm home making chili and cornbread and working on little heart bracelets.  A good day to drink tea and pull out all those clippings and sketches of bunnies and pansies and posies!  Stay warm and keep on punching.
