This is the last week for the In Stitches Exhibit at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts ...Bonnie and I are checking out one of the antique samplers.  Lots to see.  Keep on punchin.

I'm on the sheep kick...I think 3 SHADES OF SHEEP  that is on my drawing board will be the last one for now.  It's time to move on to pumpkins, cats, and all things scary!   Keep  on punchin.

FORGET ME NOT

FORGET ME NOT is almost done... I plan to have her ready to post on www.etsy.com/shop/thecooperscottage.  It's a busy time at the WMQFA  we are hanging the entries for the Strawberry Challenge.  So far we have 13 fabulous pieces to display.  Starting tomorrow, anyone who visits the museum will get to vote.  The winner will be announced on Saturday June 27th at a Strawberry Tea.  This coincides with Cedarburg's Famous Strawberry Festival.  Keep on punchin.

WITCHES WALK

Working on designs for fall," Witches Walk" is the first, on my board is a cute little trio of sheep called " Three Shades of Sheep, and there is rough sketch of of a sheep weather vane on a barn (no name yet)  The daffodils and tulips are done...plan on white petunias in the front of the Coop.  Need something to bloom all summer.  Keep on punchin.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Mom & Me circa 1943.  This studio portrait was taken to sendto my dad who was in the Navy somewhere in the South Pacific...  How the world has changed since those days, especially those post war "Happy Days" when families bought houses,  neighborhoods were safe, veterans finished school on GI bills, and there was a strong middle class whose children grew up, went to college, and exceeded their parents wildest dreams.  Keep on punchin.

"IN STITCHES"

 Sorry this page  lay out so crazy, but I can't seem to get it to work out ???

Here goes.  Please meet Carol Fisher a 87 year young woman who lives in Westbend Wisconsin.  While she has never visited these countries, she has mastered the art of their needlework!  This is just a smattering of her exquisite
work.  She has spent years studying techniques practiced by needle artists all over the world!


The Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts is so honored to have Carol's work from 15 countries exhibited as part of In Stitches.  This exhibit will be up     until the middle of July 2015.

                                                 Carol, she was telling me about a #16 pearl cotton

 She'd just discovered,  and yesterday (she drives down on Thursdays to spend time at the Museum to talk about her work, and teach )  Carol told me how she loves her NOOK, downloads tons of books, plus it has a built in wifi so she can catch up on her email!    At 87 may we all be able to have wifi and be able to catch up on our e-mail.  Keep on punchin,
